Thanks to the efforts of our amazing team of volunteers, our MYneighbour befriending projects provide great opportunities for social connection, helping residents tackle feelings of isolation and helping them to feel part of their community.
To be eligible for this service you (or your client) must:
- Live in Lambeth
- Be aged 60 and above
- Must live alone
This service is not suitable for anyone:
- With high support needs e.g. severe mental health or memory problems
-Who wants help with household chores, physical care, and care after being discharged from the hospital.
If someone needs additional help our team will do our best to find them suitable support.
If after our assessment you are not suitable for the service, unfortunately, we won't be able to match you (or your client) with a volunteer. Please note our befriending relationships are for a maximum period of 6 months.
This service is in high demand so we will only prioritise referrals for people who suffer from severe loneliness, who do not have family or friends, and who are housebound or disabled.
