A trip to the garden centre, popping out for a sausage roll and a cup of tea at the local café or a visit to see friends and socialise make a huge difference to older people’s wellbeing.

Our Care Companion team are looking for new carers to meet the growing number of older people in need of care and support – enabling them to stay in their own home – in and around Lincoln.

Age UK Lincoln & South Lincolnshire is an independent local charity, a brand partner of Age UK, supporting more than 5,000 people every week.

Following an extensive service review, we are expanding our homecare service, offering greater flexibility for our clients. In addition to daily personal care duties, we are now supporting clients to engage in much needed social activities in the community, safe in the knowledge that a qualified carer is on hand if they need them.

Our Care Companions make a real difference to the lives of older people in our community.

Unlike our competitors, our Care Companions are paid for a full shift with a minimum call time of 30 minutes, allowing you plenty of time to support the client.

A driving licence and access to a car is essential to meet the needs of our clients – we pay 45p per mile up to 10,000 miles and account for travel time to and from your care calls.

We have 21, 28 & 35 hour contracts available working across two shift patterns (07:00 - 14:30 and 14:30 - 22:00) with alternate weekends off, allowing you to plan your time to achieve a great work-life balance.

The hourly rate for this role from 1st April 2024 is £11.71, with access to a generous employee assistance programme (Bupa) a Blue Light card and other charity worker discounts and savings in many restaurants, retailers and events venues.

Working with the Registered Care Manager and Care Coordinator, all employees receive regular supervisions following a comprehensive induction to ensure we help you develop your career in the care sector.
