Become a Trustee
Help shape a better future for older people in Norfolk
We're looking for passionate, skilled people to join our Board of Trustees and help guide our Charity's work across the county. As a trustee, you’ll play a key role in ensuring Age UK Norfolk remains strong, sustainable, and focused on what matters most — supporting older people to live well and independently.
You will:
-
Use your skills to influence strategy and decision-making
-
Strengthen the charity’s governance and impact
-
Gain valuable experience in leadership and the voluntary sector
"I’ve found my time as a trustee to be an extremely rewarding experience. My role has allowed me to use my experience and skills in doing something good. It’s also great to feel part of a team that provides such important support."
Mark Barry - Honorary Treasurer
Who we are looking for
We welcome applications from all sections of the community to help us achieve a diverse trustee board that reflects our clients and communities. You don't need previous trustee experience - just enthusiasm, good judgement, and a willingness to contribute. We’re particularly keen to hear from those with experience in finance or audit, fundraising and income generation, digital transformation and health and social care.
What's Involved
Our trustees meet around six times a year, with opportunities to take part in committees or specific projects. All trustees are invited to link with a specific area of the charity. Training and support are provided, and reasonable expenses are covered.
Trustee Role Vacancy
We welcome applications from experienced charity trustees and from those for which this would be a first trustee appointment. If you are interested in this exciting voluntary role, please contact volunteering@ageuknorfolk.org.uk. Video interviews with our Chair and members of our Governance Sub-Committee will be arranged at mutually convenient times. For more information about us and the trustee application process see documents below.
