Libraries Week 5-10 October 2020

Libraries Week is an annual celebration of all the wonderful services that libraries have to offer.

This year they are celebrating reading, and highlighting libraries at home and the e-Book and e-Audio book service BorrowBox.

Libraries are using this week to reach out to people who may not know about the services they currently offer.

North Tyneside Libraries in partnership with the Royal Voluntary Service (RVS) offer a free delivery service to your home if you are unable to visit the library.

RVS volunteers will bring a selection of items to your home based on your interests, usually every four weeks. You can request particular genres, authors and titles, free of charge.

Safety measures have been put in place for your wellbeing.

Libraries teams are waiting to select books for your Order and Collect requirements. You can Order and Collect books online or by phone. Make your selection here https://capitadiscovery.co.uk/northtyneside/ using your membership number and PIN.

You can arrange an appointment to come and collect (or return) books from Covid secure locations:
North Shields, Wallsend, Whitley Bay, Killingworth, Longbenton, Dudley,
Howdon, Forest Hall, Wideopen, Monkseaton, Cullercoats, Battle Hill,
Shiremoor libraries.

PC availability is limited, so please book in advance.

Libraries have taken stringent measures to ensure the safety of staff and
customers, and are following Government and industry guidance on how
to handle library books.
