Volunteers help hundreds of older people in Northumberland each week, dedicating their time to the services that people rely on - would you like to lend a hand?
Give as little as 30 minutes of your time and help someone who is lonely or who needs a helping hand. There are a number of volunteering opportunities available in Northumberland and we would love to hear from you.
Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, learn new skills, and support the work we do in the community.
Who can volunteer?
Almost anyone can be a volunteer. We have a wide range of roles which suit different people and different skills.
How much time do I need to give?
It depends on the volunteer role you are interested in. Some people give an hour a week, other people do more.
Some ways you can get involved
Provide information and advice
Information and advice is a confidential service which plays a crucial role in improving the quality of life for older people. Could you provide important information and advice to help older people in your community?
Support local services
Make the most of your skills to help improve the lives of older people in your community. There are opportunities in lunch clubs, day centres and at our centre for older people in Ashington.
Volunteer at events
Over the year, Age UK Northumberland delivers and participates in a number of fundraising events that generate vital funds to support our services for older people. We need volunteers to help at these events.
