We are changing the way we use our fundraising supporters’ information.

Previously, we relied on consent as our legal basis. We are now moving to a legitimate interest basis, which better reflects our ongoing relationship with supporters and allows us to stay in touch in a fair, proportionate and transparent way.

This simply means:

  1. We will continue to contact you about our fundraising work only when we believe it is reasonable, relevant and not intrusive.

We balance our need to fundraise with your right to privacy - and only get in touch in ways most people would expect from a charity they have supported.

  2. You stay fully in control.
If you don’t want to receive fundraising communications, you can tell us at any time, and we will stop. This is your legal right to object.

  3. Nothing changes about how we protect your data.
Your personal information is still stored and managed securely. The only change is the legal basis we use to stay in touch.

  4. It won’t affect any services you receive from us.
This change only relates to fundraising communications, not service related contact.

If you have donated to us within the past 27 months and wish to exercise your right to object, please email fundraising@ageukoxfordshire.org.uk or call 0345 450 1276. You can view our updated privacy policy here.
