The red carpet was once again rolled out at the Carlton Park Hotel as guests turned out in their finery for the annual ‘Glitz & Glamour’ Charity Ball, on Friday 11 October to help support and raise funds for older people in Rotherham.

Showgirls added an extra sprinkle of sparkle to the glitz and glamour theme as they met and greeted guests upon their arrival at the hotel. The hotel was buzzing with excitement as guests enjoyed a welcome drinks reception, and relaxed to a wonderful cocktail of sounds played by local pianist Elliott Walker. Guests had the opportunity to browse the art gallery with titled works ‘Observations’ showcased by the talented and local artist Chris Slater.

Lesley Dabell (Age UK Rotherham, Chief Executive) welcomed guests including the (Deputy Lieutenant of South Yorkshire) and Deputy Mayor and Mayoress of Rotherham and spoke about the important and reputable work that the Charity does locally.
The event was co-hosted by Danny Stephenson who entertained guests with an outstanding performance, and a medley of songs that soon got everyone up on the dancefloor.

As well as a night of glitz & glamour, good food, great company and good entertainment everyone had an opportunity to take part in an auction and raffle to win many amazing prizes all donated by individuals and businesses in the local community.
The evening was sponsored by MEARS, Allotts, and Lilleker Brothers. Glamourpuss Weddings and Hobsons Nurseries added to the occasion by providing table decorations and beautiful planters that added a bit of extra magic and razzle dazzle.

Julie Benson (Fundraising Development Officer) said ‘we would like say a huge thank you to the Glitz & Glamour Ball Sponsors, who helped to make the event possible and to everyone who came along and supported our efforts.'

A very big thank is extended to the individuals, and local businesses who kindly and generously provided gifts for the auction and the evening’s raffle.

With your help we raised £3,465 to support our work with older people in Rotherham.

THANK YOU everyone !
