Volunteering Case Study
Age UK Sandwell Volunteer J is a Sandwell resident that joined us in November 2020 at 16 years of age! Click for more...
At the time he was looking for full time employment and was keen to gain some experience to support him in applying for jobs. J had been supporting his grandmother during the pandemic with shopping and keeping in touch on the phone whilst she was shielding and so understood what older people were going through during lockdown and was passionate about helping in any way he could. After initially getting involved in our Christmas Campaign, J, now 17, went on to support us with holding focus groups with older people for our digital project in Sandwell and supporting our activities programme by co-delivering a weekly social group. J has recently gone on to secure a full time job and has continue to support us in his free time.

-
Take part in a fundraiser
Could you help us to raise vital funds by taking part in a fundraising event?
We have regular events such as sponsored walks, but you could also do your own fundraiser like a cake sale.
-
Get your colleagues involved
Could you talk to your colleagues or your employer about how you can support us?
We have lots of ideas for how organisations can get involved, including sponsoring an event, making us Charity of the Year, or donating equipment.
