Hours 21 Hours per week
Salary £13,500 (£22,500 pro-rata to 21 hours)

About this post

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated individual with previous experience in managing a successful community centre (or comparable facility), who shares the values of our charity. We are an ambitious charity that wants to be at the heart of the Toothill community. You will play a pivotal role in setting up and developing a successful community centre.

You will be responsible for the day to day management and running of the community centre in particular; you will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • ensuring the facility is available to hire, maximising the use of the centre and generating essential income
  • compliance with all regulation and legislation specific to managing a community centre
  • recruiting a small team of volunteers, developing and running events and session from the centre
  • Introducing processes and procedures to ensure consistent and auditable administration of the centre
  • Practical hands on work to keep the facility maintained and attractive to current and prospective users

We would like to develop a centre for the community with support from the community, so we are looking for an individual who can rise to the challenge. Fundraising, and general administration will also feature in your role. With a flexible approach, you will have a good level of education and experience of managing community buildings, staff, volunteers and preferably some experience of running events or community development projects. You will be comfortable with a diverse role that requires you to switch between general management tasks to hands on practical tasks, such as compliance checks and some general maintenance.
