Stepping Up for Age UK Birmingham - The 70K for 70K Challenge
Age UK Birmingham aims to raise £70,000 to support dementia services for older people in the Birmingham and surrounding areas.

Participants will pledge to walk at least 10,000 steps per day for seven consecutive days - 15th - 21st June 2026, totalling a minimum of 70,000 steps over the week. This challenge will support Age UK Birmingham Dementia Care, and also offers you as a participant, significant physical health benefits, including;
- improved cardiovascular health
- stronger muscles and bones,
- increased energy levels
These are all health benefits we need to invest in throughout our lives, so, Act Now, Age Better!
We invite individuals, businesses, and community groups to get involved by:
- Registering to take on the 70,000-step goal.
- Gathering sponsorship and donations to support your challenge.
- Businesses can sponsor the challenge, match employee donations, or encourage your team to get involved.
- Share the challenge with your friends, family and wider networks to increase awareness and participation.

Individuals and teams are encouraged to register and seek sponsorship from friends, family, and colleagues to enable us to reach our fundraising goal.

The funds raised will directly enable Age UK Birmingham to:
- Fund specialist dementia care.
- Provide vital respite and peer support for unpaid carers.
- Support dementia cafes offering refreshments and meaningful activities.
- Help cover transport costs to bring people safely from their homes to our community hub.
