Role description

The Learning and Activities Centre aims to provide mental and physical stimulating activities to help enrich the lives of older people. As part of our programme we run a series of popular keyboard classes to students of all abilities. Due to the retirement of a long term tutor we are now looking for assistant tutors to help out the existing tutors.

Desirable experience, skills and knowledge

Ideally, we would like competent keyboard players who feel confident in their ability to communicate with their students. The way the classes are structured most of the tuition is done on an informal, one-to-one basis. Duties would include helping to set equipment out for the lesson, photocopying new music and giving advice.

Practical Considerations

Although some teaching experience and/or a formal music qualification would be helpful it is not necessary for this position. Just a passion for music and a desire to help and inspire others to play.

Age UK Bolton will reimburse all reasonable out-of-pocket travel expenses.
