Role Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled line dancing instructor to lead enjoyable line dancing sessions for the over 50’s at Walmsley community church in Bolton. You will promote physical activity, social engagement and a sense of participation amongst the attendees.

Specific responsibilities

  • Plan and lead line dancing sessions
  • Provide clear and easy to follow instructions
  • Encourage attendees to socialise and engage with each other promoting a sense of community within the group
  • Ensure health and safety within the group, being mindful of attendee’s physical limitations
  • Coordinate music during the session
  • Promote health and wellbeing during the session
  • Complete registration and enrolment forms
  • Work as part of a team with other Age UK Bolton staff and volunteers.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Previous experience in line dancing instruction preferred but not mandatory
  • An open-minded approach to individuals, avoiding judgement and stereotyping.
  • A liking for and interest in working with older people
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Willingness to attend training and other events and to be able to commit to regular volunteering hours.
  • Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check (criminal records check)

Time Requirements

We would ideally be looking for people to commit to volunteering for 1-2hours on a weekly basis.
