Role Description

As a wellbeing group volunteer you will facilitate group sessions designed to be friendly warm and welcoming to improve the wellbeing of older residents in Little Lever. With the support of the Ageing Well Coordinator, you will help to plan each weekly session.  Wellbeing group sessions will consist of workshops, peer discussions and positive activities such as mindfulness coloring, breathing techniques, and listening to music.

Specific responsibilities

  • Help with setting up the group
  • Deliver wellbeing activities and smooth running of the group
  • Plan weekly group activities
  • Ensure that the group is delivered within a safe, welcoming environment
  • Make refreshments for the group
  • Complete registration and enrolment forms

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • An open-minded approach to individuals, avoiding judgement and stereotyping.
  • A liking for and interest in working with older people
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Willingness to attend training and other events and to be able to commit to regular volunteering hours.
  • Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check (criminal records check)

Time Requirements

We would ideally be looking for people to commit to volunteering 1-2 hours per week.
