Enabling Connections is a free, short-term befriending service for people aged 50 and over who are experiencing loneliness or social isolation. Through regular one-to-one support from a trained volunteer, we help people build confidence, reconnect with their community, and develop meaningful social connections.

What the service offers

Over a period of up to six months, volunteers work alongside individuals to identify personal goals, explore local activities and support networks, and help them take positive steps towards greater independence, wellbeing and social engagement.

The service aims to reduce feelings of loneliness, improve wellbeing, and empower people to maintain lasting connections and support beyond the life of the programme.
