Insights to Impact

Our Age Friendly programme is all about listening, learning, and taking action. Here we share what we’ve discovered so far including the experiences, challenges and ideas gathered from older adults across Buckinghamshire, and how these insights are already shaping real changes in our communities. By turning voices into action, we’re working together to create a county where everyone can age well.
How we are engaging with communities in Buckinghamshire
So far, we’ve visited over 20 community groups across the county to gather the views of residents on what it means to age well in Buckinghamshire. We targeted groups in rural and urban areas, groups for men and for women, people from different ethnicities, people with specific health needs and those with special interests. We've spoken to family carers, faith groups, newly established groups and those that are long standing. We have engaged with people mostly face to face and asked them to think about the Age Friendly domains (see diagram) and tell us what is working well and what are their challenges as they age.
