Take Five to Age Well

Take Five to Age Well: Empowering the UK towards longer, healthier lives
What is Take Five to Age Well?
Take Five to Age Well is a campaign created by Age UK and The Open University, designed to inspire people across the UK to take simple, yet meaningful actions for 30 consecutive days that support healthy ageing.
What pledges can I choose from?
Move: Go for a short daily walk, do stretches while watching TV
Connect: Call or meet a friend, join a community group or club
Think: Read 5 pages of a book a day, do a puzzle or crossword
Drink: Stay hydrated by drinking more water throughout the day
Eat: Add more fruit or veg to your meals, try a new healthy recipe
How I can get involved?
It’s easy! Choose at least one (if possible, even more!) pledge and stick to it for 30 consecutive days!
Not sure where to start? Don't worry! We have 5 helpful tips for each pledge to help get you started.
To help you track your progress you can download an easy to use calendar.

Below you’ll find five downloadable resources, one for each pledge: Eat, Move, Drink, Think and Connect.
Each one includes simple, practical tips to help you get started and keep going with your chosen pledge. Whether you’re looking for fresh ideas, a little inspiration, or a gentle reminder, these resources are here to support you every step of the way.
As part of the Take Five to Age Well journey, we created a dedicated Facebook group for participants. This group not only offered a space for people to share their experiences, tips and encouragement, but it also played a vital role in shaping these resources. Through the ideas gathered from the group we co-produced the content to ensure it reflects what participants themselves found most helpful in sustaining their pledges.
You will also find a calendar which you can print and use as a guide to help you stay on track. All of these resources can be downloaded and shared with anyone you feel may benefit from them.
