Call for action on social care

Published on 30 October 2019 03:11 PM

You probably already know that our social care system is broken.

Many older people are selling their homes and spending their life’s savings to pay for care that can be poor quality. Others are being left alone to look after their loved ones without help.

In the last Queen’s Speech the Government promised to “bring forward proposals to reform adult social care in England”. It’s great that they recognise the problem, but proposals have been promised several times before. We need your support to get the Government to act - especially with the upcoming election.

Could you help by writing to Matt Hancock MP (Secretary of State for Health and Social Care) to show that the public want a new national care system?

We want to grow old knowing that we’ll have support and dignity in later life. It’s what we all want for our parents, our grandparents and ourselves.

To make that happen we must create a system that’s free and available to everyone when they need it, as well as increasing support for unpaid carers.

We want Matt Hancock MP (Secretary of State for Health and Social Care) to understand why change is so vital and what he needs to do to improve the care system. Will you help?
