Public consultation on the future of Devon County Council’s Adult Day Services

Published on 16 November 2023 04:16 PM

Devon County Council would like to hear from people who have an interest in day services now and in the future, including people who use the services, families and anyone supporting an older adult or a person with learning disability.

The authority operates ten in-house day care services at eight different sites across Devon.

Since 2015, the number of eligible people accessing the County Council’s in-house learning disability day services has reduced from 116 to 13 people today.

Devon’s learning disability day services at Lyric in Okehampton, Newholme in Honiton, Silverhill in Barnstaple, and Tumbly Hill in Kingsbridge, as well as its older people day services at Tumbly Hill, are currently not attended by anyone.

The learning disability day service at Rosalind House in Tiverton is currently required by one person.

The County Council is asking for people to have their say on whether it should continue operating the day care services described above.

How to have your say

There are several ways that people can have their say on the consultation including face to face meetings with Living Options, completion of a questionnaire (see consultation documentation) or feedback by an email.

Living Options Devon, on behalf of Devon County Council, will be holding a series of public consultation meetings throughout November and December. Details of which can be found on the poster below including details of how to book your place.

If you have any questions about the consultation or if you require this information or any of the information in a different language or format, please contact APSConsultation@devon.gov.uk.
