Empower yourself with Age UK Devon’s Scams Awareness Service

Age UK Devon is offering a free Scams Awareness Service across Devon with the aim of equipping older people with the knowledge and understanding of the sophisticated techniques criminals are using to catch everyone out.
Through one-to-one advice sessions, specially trained staff can guide you on how to recognise different types of scams; provide tips and information to avoid being scammed and provide guidance and support if you have already been scammed.
These one-to-one advice sessions are for anyone over 50 and will either take place in person or over the telephone at a mutually agreeable time during the office hours of 8.30am – 4.30pm, Monday to Friday.
Sophie Littlewood, Chief Executive at Age UK Devon said: “Any of us can fall victim of a scam. Scams are increasingly common, and many people of all ages are caught out. This can be distressing, and the impact can be emotional as well as financial. We are therefore proud to be offering our new Scams Awareness Service and empowering older people with the knowledge and skills required to reduce the risk of being a victim of fraud.”
