We have been running Day Centres in Doncaster for over 20 years. Our aim is to provide lonely and isolated older people a safe and friendly environment to socialise and enjoy taking part in activities.
As a Day Centre Volunteer you will support our staff to make sure everyone who atteneds our centres is made to feel welcome and that their needs are met throughout the day.
Your main duties may include;
- Serving refreshments and lunches
- Leading and taking part in activities
- Talking to attendees
- ...and more
We have 11 Day Centres in total operating across Doncaster. We utilise community centres, church halls and other community venues. For a comprehensive list of all our centres and the days they run, click here.
If you wish to volunteer in the Day Centres we ask that you be able to work between 10am and 3pm on your available days. This allows you to fully participate in the running of the Centre and effectively support the rest of the team.
We also require all new volunteers to attend our induction course which covers all the training you will need, including; Moving and Handling, Safeguarding, Confidentiality, and much more. This course usually runs over 4-5 full days.
Our Commitment to you
We offer all our volunteers the same level of training and ongoing support. We will also cover all reasonable out of pocket expenses. For more information please visit our volunteering page.
