We are looking for a passionate and committed Assistant Manager to join our Retail Team for 6 months on a Fixed Term Contract, supporting the Lewes Shop Manager and volunteer team.  Further details are shown below:

Assistant Shop Manager (6 month Fixed Term Contract)

  • Location:  Lewes
  • Responsible to:  Lewes Shop Manager
  • Purpose:  Support the Shop Manager with managing the Age UK East Sussex Lewes Shop to achieve sale and profit targets to support the local work of the charity. The Shop operates on a 7-day basis and working hours include Saturdays and Sundays on a rota basis.
  • Hours:  21 hours per week, 3 days out of 7, to include weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis.
  • Salary:  £13,442.52
  • Holiday:  25 days (pro-rata) Holiday plus Bank Holidays (pro-rata)

This is a unique opportunity to bring your ideas to life and help build a vibrant team of volunteers. You will be at the heart of our successful shop in Lewes town centre that supports our mission, drives sales, and becomes a valued part of the local community.

You will assist the Shop Manager and will manage the day-to-day operations of the shop in their absence, delivering high levels of customer service, adhering to all charity policies and procedures, and helping volunteers, donors and customers understand how their contributions are making a difference to the lives of people in East Sussex
