Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Age UK Exeter. We are deeply grateful to all our volunteers for the incredible difference they make in the lives of older people across Exeter.

As one of our clients shared about their Volunteer Visitor "They make a big difference in my life for the better."

Another client told us their Time for You Volunteer "has given me an opportunity to be myself."

If you are interested in giving a little of your time to help older people in Exeter age positively, there are many different ways to get involved. Please see our current volunteering opportunities below.

  • Time For You Volunteer

Are you good with people? Can you give carers of older people in a few hours break each week by providing company and reassurance to their loved one at home?

As a Time for You volunteer you will be providing warm, empathetic company and practical support (NOT personal care) to the loved one of a carer so they can go shopping, attend appointments, or simply have a break.

  • Reception & Admin Volunteer

We currently have no volunteer roles in this area but please check back soon

  • Ad-hoc Volunteering

Many of us lead very busy lives. So why not become an ad-hoc volunteer?

Our amazing volunteers help us to do so much in Exeter. Ad-hoc volunteers are invited to help out at one-off fundraising events and activities that take place throughout the year, from lunch clubs to bake sales.

  • Volunteer Visitor

Are you looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of older people in Exeter? Join Age UK Exeter as a Volunteer Visitor and help combat loneliness in our community

As a Volunteer Visitor, you'll offer companionship to older people, especially those living alone, through regular social home visits. These visits, typically lasting around an hour each week, provide much needed social support and connection.

International Volunteers

We want to make every effort to facilitate international volunteers and benefit hugely from their contribution to the charity. For more information on the DBS process and/or letters of recommendation, please see our welcome letter following the link.
