We have a total of 10 social clubs open daily from Monday to Friday. They are north and south of the borough of Hillingdon, 7 are run out of sheltered housing schemes, 3 are run from church halls. All of our clubs are fully accessible for anyone with a disability e.g. a wheelchair user, our clubs are a mixture of men and women, we offer a programme of activities designed to engage people in fun and conversation for example games, quizzes, talks, outings, celebrations and arts & crafts. Our clubs also act as a drop in so people can come in for some or all of the session. We provide talks on a variety of subjects throughout the year.
Our Irish club is accessible for people who are Irish or of Irish decent, there is a membership fee of £5 per year and a weekly fee of £3. The clubs has a weekly programme of exercises, bingo, and music, there are also light refreshments on offer at the club. The club is run by Age UK and the clubs committee.
At each of our clubs we have a lead person/volunteers who are employed by Age UK.
We currently charge £1 for our social clubs (excluding the Irish club) all other services are free.
