Silver Sunday with Age UK HHB: Community Celebration Brings Dance, Laughter, and Connection

Published on 07 October 2025 12:11 PM

This years Silver Sunday Daytime Disco proved to be a resounding success, transforming into an energetic celebration described by organisers as “Silver Shimmies.” From the event’s outset, the dance floor remained a hub of activity, with attendees of all ages showcasing dance moves that challenged expectations and demonstrated that age is, indeed, just a number.

We were honoured to welcome the Deputy Mayor, Reeta Chamdal, whose presence added a special touch to the day, their support for our service users and community initiatives is deeply appreciated. The Deputy Mayor congratulated us for organising a meaningful community event and noted the joy on people's faces and the lively atmosphere on the dance floor.

The event to celebrate community, connection, and joy, drew an enthusiastic crowd of service users and supporters. The combination of lively music and spirited dancing led to what many described as an unforgettable occasion.

Throughout the celebration, the venue reverberated with laughter, music, and camaraderie. Smiles were a constant feature, and the sense of togetherness was palpable as the dance floor remained busy throughout.

As the event concluded, we reflected on the success of Silver Sunday, highlighting the importance of such gatherings in fostering connections and celebrating shared joy.
