Hilllingdon has lots of beautiful parks and open places to walk in. This is Barra Hall Park in Hayes.

It is not far from our Townfield community centre where many of the activities we run in Hillingdon take place.

Clubs and Activities Run by Age UK in Hillingdon

Social Clubs

We have a total of 10 social clubs open daily from Monday to Friday. They run north and south of the borough, seven of which run out of sheltered housing schemes, three are run from church halls. All of our clubs are fully accessible for anyone with a disability e.g. a wheelchair user and a mixture of both men and women.

We offer a programme of activities designed to engage people in fun and conversation for example:

  • Games
  • Quizzes
  • Talks
  • Outings
  • Celebrations
  • Arts and Crafts

Our clubs also act as a drop in so people can come in for some or all of the session. We also provide talks on a variety of subjects throughout the year.

The Irish club is accessible for people who are Irish or of Irish decent, there is a membership fee of £6 per year and a weekly fee of £3. It is run by Age UK HHB and a club committee. A weekly programme of consists of:

  • Exercises
  • Bingo
  • Music and dance
  • And light refreshments are on offer at the club.

At each of our clubs we have a lead person/volunteers who are employed by Age UK HHB. We currently charge £1 for our social clubs (excluding the Irish club) all other services are free (unless stated otherwise).
