New charity shop and advice centre to open in Harpurhey

Published on 27 November 2018 11:11 AM

We’re excited to announce we are opening a new charity shop and advice hub at Harpurhey Shopping Centre on 8th December. Our shop will include good quality clothing for the whole family as well as furniture, homeware and more. We will also be providing regular information and advice surgeries for older people in the area on issues such as benefit entitlements, accessing social services, identifying housing options and much more.

And we want to hear from local people about what other services and activities you’d like us to provide in the community. Would you like to see more activities for older people in the area, such as craft clubs, exercise sessions and lunch clubs? What services do you think are missing for older people in the area? We want to create a vibrant community hub that has a range of activities and services that reflect the wishes, needs and interests of local older people so pop in and tell us what you think!

To make the centre a success, we need a dedicated team of volunteers to help us get started, to assist in the shop and hub, and help us support the needs of local older people. Volunteers are an integral part of our work and will be given rewarding, worthwhile roles to help support local older people. To find out more, click here.

We look forward to seeing you in Harpurhey soon!
