This Annual Report outlines Age UK Merton’s progress in year two of its 2023–2026 Strategic Plan, focused on three priorities: delivering high-quality advice and practical support, building social connection, and creating opportunities for lifelong active ageing. The charity supported large numbers of older adults through its Living Well service (872 individual clients), Information and Advice service (1,189 clients, with an estimated £632,828 in additional benefits secured), At Home service, befriending schemes and a growing programme of community activities and exercise classes across the borough.
It highlights strengthened outreach, partnership working within Merton’s health and voluntary sectors, national quality accreditations for advice and befriending, and the vital contribution of volunteers, all aimed at improving health, wellbeing, independence and inclusion for older people in Merton.
