Day 4 – Keeping Safe

Our Scams Project helps older and vulnerable people stay safe online by offering free, practical advice on how to spot scams and what steps to take to avoid them.

Over the past year, more than 1,500 people attended our group events and individual sessions, learning how to protect themselves from fraud and online threats. These sessions are not only informative - they empower people to feel confident and in control.

Here’s what participants had to say:

  • “Thank you so much for your presentation to our group on Wednesday. So very informative and interesting. I came home and cleared my browser straight away! A lot of what you told us were things we possibly knew but needed reminding of. The leaflets were easy to understand, and I’ve taken a few to share with others who couldn’t attend. I’ll be advocating for Age UK services!”
  • “It made you aware how vulnerable we all can be. Well worth going to.”
  • “It was brilliant—it really made you think about what you’re doing!”
  • “I will always check I’m on the correct website before booking a holiday.”
  • “Let unknown numbers go to voicemail.”

The work we’re doing is invaluable - and every session helps stop these awful scams from claiming more victims.
