Make a difference

You can make a massive difference to the lives of local older people by buying, donating or volunteering at our charity shops.

Charity shops are a vital source of income for us at Age UK Notts, and without them we would struggle to help the thousands of older people we support each year through our services, such as our Information & Advice service or Visiting services.

Pop in and browse for some hidden gems you can enjoy, whilst impacting the lives of local older people.

Do you have anything laying around your house unused that could be given a new home? Maybe you have a set of drawers sitting in the garage gathering dust, or some DVDs you no longer watch? Well, if that is the case, consider donating any good quality items to our charity shops.

Above is a list of what we stock to give you an idea of what donations we can accept, but if you are unsure simply contact us and we will be able to help.

Unfortunately, we aren't able to accept IT equipment, toys without a CE label, medical equipment, white goods (such as cookers or washing machines), suites and beds without fire labels, and some other items for safety or legal reasons – but if in doubt, just ask!

Our Mansfield shop is open 5 days a week, a feat that would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of our team of volunteers.

Do you enjoy customer service? Or, are you a dab hand at sorting or carrying heavy furniture? Why not try your hand at volunteering with our Mansfield shop team?

We are always on the lookout for more volunteers. So, if you could commit a morning or afternoon one day a week, get in touch with our volunteering manager on or 0115 859 9204.
