Consider joining us for a day out. We provide trips to places of interests, either locally or further away, for a guaranteed day out full of adventure.

We have been on a backstage tour of Hampton Hill Theatre, a visit to The National Archives for a curator-led tour of the exhibition, the Poppy Factory in Richmond. During the summer we have visited Whitstable and Brighton and also the Desing Museum in London, and at Christmas time visited Petworth House and Winchester Christmas Market.

Royal Courts of Justice & Old Bailey

9th April, 10.30am

£17 (no transport included)

Join us at this tour of the Royal Court of Justice delivered by a former crime reporter, who has the inside knowledge of over 25 years covering both the Royal Courts of Justice (RCJ) and the Old Bailey. It is the venue's most popular offering, ideal for crime buffs.

The tour then moves on to the Old Bailey, the country’s leading criminal court, for a talk outside on the fascinating history of the Old Bailey and the trials which shocked the nation. We cannot guarantee entry to the public galleries as it is a government building and we have no control over who gets in. However it is unusual not to gain entry.

Meeting point:  The tour will be leaving from outside the Royal Courts of Justice main entrance by the black railings on the Strand at 11am.

Transport links:  You could catch the District line to Temple Station and walk up to Royal Court of Justice (the walk will be up a slight hill). Or take a train to Waterloo Station and get bus number 243 or 59 from bus stop J.  Get off at Aldwych/Drury Lane and walk 6 mins to the meeting place at the Royal Courts of Justice.  Or you could walk from Waterloo Station over Waterloo Bridge and to the Royal Courts of Justice (will take you approximately 20 mins).

Please Note:  As RCJ is spread over a larger area, there will be a lot of walking and also going up and down some stairs.  It is an old building so there is limited accessible entrances.

Booking system:

Our outings programme has always been very popular but lately demand for places has soared. Please kindly note it is no longer feasible to notify people individually about trips or put names down in advance.

Instead, we publish a list of outings online and posters will be displayed in advance in our social centres for those not online. Going forward, we will announce the date the outing goes on sale in advance giving everyone an equal chance to book a ticket on that date.

Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

For more information on outings, contact wellbeing@ageukrichmond.org.uk or ring Shyama Newton on 020 8744 1965.
