LEAVING A GIFT IN YOUR WILL is an amazing way to do something special for the older generations that follow. We understand that your own family and loved ones come first, but we hope that after they have been looked after that you would consider leaving Age UK Richmond a gift. Your gift will bring comfort, friendship and support to older people during their most difficult times. Your kindness could help someone stay active, feel less alone, and know they’re not forgotten.

Age UK Richmond is a local, independent charity committed to supporting older people In the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. Although we work in partnership with the international and national Age UK organisations, as well as around 120 other local Age UKs, each of us operates independently. This means we are all responsible for raising our own funds.

Many people assume we are part of the national Age UK organisation, or refer to us simply as 'Age UK'. However, we operate separately, and our registered and correct name is Age UK Richmond upon Thames, or Age UK Richmond. This distinction is important — if a gift is intended for a local Age UK (like us) but does not use the correct details, it simply won't reach the intended organisation having a huge impact on smaller charities like us.

If you choose to leave a gift in your will to Age UK Richmond, it is essential that you clearly specify the following details; otherwise, your gift will not reach us:

Age UK Richmond upon Thames
The White House Community Centre
45 The Avenue
Hampton
TW12 3RN
Charity Number: 1084211

THANK YOU FOR THINKING OF US. Every single gift is vital to us and we are deeply grateful for any donation you may choose to leave after taking care of your family and friends. Whatever the value of your gift it will make a meaningful difference to someone who needs our help.

If you would like to speak to us in confidence, have a chat and ask some questions to someone who understands how important this type of gift is please call us on 020 3816 0021 or email abi.stokes@ageukrichmond.org.uk

You can ask a qualified professional such as a solicitor to add an amendment (called a codicil). You can leave a specific sum of money or an item such as jewellery or a piece of art. Or you can leave a share in, or all of, what's left of the value of your estate after family and friends have been taken care of. The advantage of leaving a share (also known as residuary gift) is that it remains the same over time, and you won't need to change your will to keep up with inflation.
