Local Councillor Bowled Over!

Published on 01 June 2023 01:08 PM

Sandwell Councillor and Town Lead, Caroline Owen (centre) attended the St. James Church bowls club last Thursday along with Karen from Age UK Sandwell.

The club had very recently had two new bowling mats that were funded via Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council's "Community Infrastruture Levy" grant funding along with funds

Caroline was accompanied by honorary club member Karen (with the blue lanyard), to try their hand at the sport while also meeting the club members to see first hand the effect such programmes have in reducing the isolation and lonliness of older people in the borough.
