Millions of people in the UK juggle their unpaid caring responsibilities with paid employment. For many, balancing work and care can be a real struggle, leaving many carers exhausted, stressed, and struggling to manage their own physical and mental health.

Many carers urgently need more support to ensure they can remain in work. Pre-COVID, 600 people a day were having to leave the labour market, with terrible consequences for them, their families, the businesses they worked for and the wider economy, due to a lack of support.

The Carer’s Leave Bill is being debated in the House of Commons on Friday 9th September. This is an important opportunity that could provide over 2 million employees with unpaid caring  responsibilities with the right to take time off work to care for a family member or friend. It’s vital it passes. To make sure it does, we need the support of as many MPs as possible.
