We are proud to be part of Tameside and are encouraged by the support we receive from the local business community.
As a local, independent charity, we rely on the generosity of the public to continue to provide our services and develop new ones to meet the changing needs of a growing, aging population. Over the years, we have enjoyed working in partnership with local businesses and are always keen to establish new partnerships.
Perhaps your business is looking for a local charity to fundraise for this year. Or maybe you have a group of employees keen to find a local organisation to volunteer for. Whatever your interest, we'd love to hear from you.
Here are just some examples of how local businesses have shown their support:
The publishers of the popular 'In and Around' magazines regularly donate a full page to Age UK Tameside for the alternating Tameside and Glossop editions. This space is valuable in publicising our events and services and is hugely appreciated.
You can pick up your FREE copy of 'In and Around' at local libraries and community centres throughout Tameside and Glossop. You can also download a copy of the most recent edition by clicking here.
Sainsbury's Ashton Moss
Sainsbury's in Ashton Moss has long supported Age UK Tameside, often providing us space to hold information stalls during awareness events like Carers Week. They have also regularly donated unsold flowers, allowing us to brighten up our Independent Living Centre.
Support at Christmas
It is becoming more well known the impact of loneliness on people in later life, particularly at Christmas. In recent years, we've seen a huge increase in the amount of businesses who wish to support us during Christmas by doing things like providing goods for hampers, sending in a team of volunteers to help serve a festive meal in the run up to Christmas or just coming in to enjoy singing Christmas carols over a mince pie and cup of tea. The Co-Operative Food and The Prince's Trust are just two of the organisations who have generously supported us in recent years.
If your business or organisation would like to work with us or support our work, please get in touch by calling 0161 308 5000 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
