Fixed-term contract until 31st December 2026
£20,420 per annum (plus pension and healthcare scheme benefits) - £13.08 per hour
(FTE £25,185 for 37 hours a week)
The organisation
We are a locally focused charity with over 100 staff and volunteers across Birmingham and Sandwell. We provide services and support to people aged 50+, enabling, empowering, and encouraging them to enrich their lives and live independently. We are looking to grow and expand to reach more older people in Birmingham and Sandwell.
The opportunity
TThe role will provide information and advice with case work to adults aged 50+ and their families and carers in a wide field of subjects, including welfare benefits, housing, health, community care, and local services across Birmingham. The role will deliver support face to face at our Birmingham locations, at events, on the phone and by email.
This is a chance to work with a fantastic staff team and wider community of people.
We will provide on the job support, and additional external training as required.
The ideal candidate
This is a forward thinking, energetic role for someone passionate about delivering high quality service to older people. Ideally, you will have proven experience of advice work in the advice or third sector and experience of working within a fastpaced environment handling administration and information systems and client interactions. You must have excellent communication and organisational skills, and an understanding of the issues affecting older people. Previous experience of working within Information and Advice is not essential, however, knowledge of welfare benefits is advantageous.
