Staying Warm this Winter

Published on 23 December 2020 02:15 PM

In the cold winter months, and especially at this time of year money worries can cause a lot of stress. This can be worries about heating and other utility bills as well as credit card and other outstanding debt.

If you are worried about the costs of heating your home you may be able to get some extra help. There are initiatives such as the Warm Home Discount, the Cold Weather Payment and the Winter Fuel Payment which you may be entitled to.

If your bills are high, there may be things you can do to reduce them, such as choosing a more suitable tariff or installing more energy efficient measures around the home. There is also help available to manage your debts.

We understand that this can be a bit of a minefield, especially for the older generations, but here at Age UK Bolton, we are always looking to help wherever we can with friendly advice and information.
