Age UK Bolton is proud to announce its new role as an official Business Partner of Bolton Wanderers Football Club for the 2025–26 season — marking an exciting step forward in strengthening the charity’s visibility, reach and community impact.
As an independent local charity, Age UK Bolton delivers vital services and support to older people across the borough — but we rely heavily on the generosity and involvement of local people, businesses and partners to do so. This partnership with Bolton Wanderers — one of Bolton’s most iconic and community-driven institutions — is a bold move to ensure Age UK Bolton becomes older peoples charity of choice for people to support, donate to, volunteer with, and champion.
Bolton Wanderers is a multi-generational, values-led club that sits at the heart of the town’s identity. That’s why this partnership is such a natural fit. It’s not just about logo placements or shared events — it’s about standing side-by-side with a club that believes in community pride, inclusion, and ambition for all generations.
Through this collaboration, we want to amplify the message that ageing well is everyone’s business — and that the wellbeing and contributions of older people should be central to Bolton’s future. Whether that’s through raising awareness, recruiting volunteers, or simply sparking conversation, this partnership gives Age UK Bolton a powerful platform to connect more people with our mission.
“This partnership with Bolton Wanderers is about more than profile — it’s about purpose,” said Lauren McKechnie, CEO of Age UK Bolton. “We want Age UK Bolton to be seen, felt, and known in every corner of our borough — as the go-to organisation for older people and those who care about them. This partnership helps us take that next step.”
John Cooper, Chair of Age UK Bolton, added: “Bolton Wanderers has always stood for something bigger than football — and we’re proud to be part of that story. We want to open up new opportunities to grow support, build deeper connections, and ensure Age UK Bolton is here for every older person who needs us — now and in the future.”
Bolton Wanderers Head of Commercial, Carl Sanderson, said, “At Bolton Wanderers, our commitment to community is at the heart of everything we do. We’re proud to be working with Age UK Bolton — an organisation that shares our values and makes a real difference across the borough. This partnership highlights the Club’s belief in intergenerational impact and the power of connection between young and old. We take great pride in standing alongside Age UK Bolton to champion older people and build a stronger, more inclusive Bolton for everyone.”
This new business partnership builds on Age UK Bolton’s existing collaboration with Bolton Wanderers in the Community, and reflects the power of partnership in action. Together, we’re sending a clear message: when Bolton comes together, every generation thrives.
