Pauline Accepting The Generous Donation From Dilu at Tesco Extra Woolwich

We’re delighted to share this generous act of community kindness from Tesco Extra Woolwich.

Dilu Thapa, Front End Manager and Community Champion at the store – and a member of the local Nepalese community contacted our colleague Pauline Cahill after hearing about her work with older Nepalese residents through our Nepalese Gurkha Veterans Community Project.

Dilu arranged a donation of assorted bed linen and towels, valued at over £550, from the store’s end-of-range stock. These items are now being shared with older people from disadvantaged households who are experiencing loneliness, poor health, or the effects of the rising cost of living.

The photo shows Dilu and Pauline at Tesco Extra Woolwich on Thursday 15 May 2025, where the donation was formally handed over. Pauline shared her thanks on behalf of the whole team, saying:

“This generous contribution will go a long way in supporting some of the most vulnerable members of our community. We’re incredibly grateful to Dilu and the Tesco team for their kindness and support.”

We’d like to extend our thanks to everyone at Tesco Woolwich involved in making this happen, your donation will make a real difference.
