Free and ConfidentialWoman helping man with advice

Our Information, Advice and Guidance service offers a free, confidential and independent advice service to older residents living in the London boroughs of Bromley and Greenwich.

Our expert advisors provided generalist advice on a range of issues including employment rights, welfare benefits, debt, housing, legal issues, relationships, and consumer rights.

If you would like some help with your paperwork or a bill or would like someone to act on your behalf, we may be able to help you.

We keep stocks of free leaflets and fact sheets which cover a huge range of subjects. We also produce lists that are specific to Bromley and Greenwich, such as hairdressers who can visit you at home, or clubs and activities in various parts of the two Boroughs.

For Information and Advice inquiries, or to make an appointment at an Outreach Surgery please call 020 8315 1850.  When you first contact us we will carry out a quick Initial Assessment.  This helps us to fully understand your circumstances and ensure that we provide the most appropriate level of support tailored to your individual needs.

Welfare Benefits

Last year we raised over £1,800,000 in benefits for older people living in the Bromley and Greenwich boroughs. There are billions of pounds of benefits unclaimed by older people across the country.

Many older people are either put off by the complexities of the benefits system, or assume they cannot claim anything because they have a private pension or some savings.

We have a team of trained staff and volunteers who can check to see if you’re entitled to claim any welfare or disability benefits, and can take you through the claims process from start to finish. We can also help you if you have been turned down for certain benefits, and would like to appeal the decision. Contact our Information and Advice team on 020 8315 1878 if you would like to have a welfare benefits check.

Would you like us to talk to your Community Group or Organisation?

We are able to deliver one-off sessions to community groups and organisations in order to raise the profile of the services Age UK Bromley & Greenwich provides for older people. If you would like to book a session, please email giving details of your group, when you would like us to talk, if there are any particular services or information you are interested in and your contact details.
