You could be entitled to some extra help in later life to give you more money in your pocket.

Age UK Camden offers advice about money and benefits you could get, we can carry out benefit entitlement checks and help you with making a claim. We can also offer debt advice and help you with negotiating with creditors.

We may also be able to assist you to apply for a charity grant for essential items, such as bedding, furniture, and white goods, or food vouchers if you do not have the funds to buy them yourself.

Benefit Check

Our Information and Advice Team is offering Benefit Check appointments for Camden residents aged 55+ or the carers of residents aged 55+.

Benefit Check ensures older Camden residents are receiving their full-entitlement to the welfare benefits available to them and helps to raise awareness of the Warm Home Discount - a one-off payment of £140 to help with energy costs for those who meet the eligibility criteria.

With the on-going lockdown and people spending more time at home, fuel energy consumption will increase, and many older residents may struggle to pay their energy bills this winter.

If you, or someone you know would like to book a Benefit Check appointment, please email the details to duty@ageukcamden.org.uk or call 020 7837 3777.

Planning for the future

We can also help with planning for the future - from guidance on pensions, funeral plans and gifts during lifetime to talking through the importance of having a will and lasting power of attorney.

  • Lasting power of attorney

Lasting power of attorney (LPA) is a legal tool that gives another adult the legal authority to make certain decisions for you, if you become unable to make them yourself.
