More Than Gardening: June’s Green Connection
For 85-year-old June, her garden has always been a place of joy. But as maintaining her large garden became more difficult, Green Connections provided the practical support she needed to continue enjoying the outdoors. Over three visits, Green Connections Coordinator Collette worked alongside June to refresh her garden, plant new flowers and replace a much-loved tree.
But June’s Green Connection was about much more than gardening. Through cups of tea, shared interests and conversations, June and Collette developed a genuine connection. Her story shows how Green Connections can help people stay connected to nature, continue doing the things they love and, importantly, have someone alongside them who takes the time to listen.
