Meet The Team
Taking that first step to pick up the phone and ask for help or information isn't always easy. But when you call the Age UK Isle of Wight JAY Service, you can rest assured that a friendly, listening ear is waiting on the other end of the line.
Our JAY Service Coordinators are the heart of our team. They are here to guide you, support you, and make sure you get the right help at the right time.
We’d love for you to put a face to the voices you hear on the phone. Meet the wonderful people who keep the JAY Service running!
Shannon: Coordinator For the North/East of the Island

My names Shannon I'm the coordinator for the North/East of the Island, I support clients in my area to live independently at home by arranging support workers to help with day to day challenges, this could be companionship visits to combat loneliness or visits to support with housework if mobility is an issue.
I enjoy being able to help make those small changes in our clients lives so things are made easier for them and improving their quality of life.
Shelley: Co-ordinator For the West & Central Areas of the Island

As the Client Care Coordinator for the West and Central areas of the Island, I have proudly been part of the Age UK IW family for nine years. Because I started out in the community doing face-to-face assessments, I really understand firsthand what our clients and support workers need. It is an incredibly rewarding role, knowing that we are providing such vital services to our Island residents
The best part of my day is chatting with our clients, listening to their stories, sharing a giggle, and helping to cheer them up if they’re having a tough day. I’m also here to support our amazing team of support workers through all the highs and lows. When I’m not in the office, my favourite ways to unwind are spending time with my family and friends, or enjoying a good walk with my dog.
Allison: Team leader for our Home Help, volunteering, and information and signposting service

Hello! I'm Allison, and I've been a proud part of the charity for seven years. I began my journey here as a Volunteer Coordinator for our Good Neighbours programme, and today, I am absolutely thrilled to serve as the Team Leader for our Home Help, volunteering, and information and signposting services.
I have the pleasure of guiding an incredible office team of six, alongside our wonderful volunteers and support workers, who are all deeply committed to assisting our Island residents. Working so closely with our community over the years has truly opened my eyes; it is incredibly moving to see just how much Islanders care for one another, and the dedication everyone demonstrates in all their efforts.
Jo: Community Care Lead
Hi, I'm Jo! As the Community Care Lead, I use my extensive background in the care sector to offer practical, hands-on support to our Island community. A big part of my role involves heading out to perform home assessments for every client who uses our home help service, as well as being there to support our hardworking community support workers. I also love being able to help take the stress out of paperwork for people by assisting them with their Attendance Allowance and Blue Badge application forms.
