‘Just About You’ (JAY) is a Domestic Service run by Age UK Isle of Wight to help our older Island residents remain independent in their homes for longer. We are looking for casual Support Workers to join the team in various locations across the Island to provide a wide range of help to our clients such as cleaning, food preparation, laundry, ironing, companionship, dog walking, outings and shopping.
We are looking to expand our team of Handypersons/Gardeners. We coordinate a variety of indoor/outdoor maintenance and repair jobs for our elderly community to help keep them independent in their own homes.
You will be a subcontractor; a professional, multi-skilled, self-employed tradesperson with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in property/garden maintenance, able to provide your own transport, tools and public liability insurance. Criminal record (DBS) and references checks will be undertaken.
The Age Friendly Island / Thrive Service is looking for an Older Prisoners Project Officer to run a collaborative project to further develop Age UK Isle of Wight's links with HMP Isle of Wight, that aims to improve the health and wellbeing of older prisoners through offering information and advice, advocacy, befriending, activities and training.
If you are a positive and confident communicator and have previous experience of project delivery, providing information and advice, planning and facilitating workshops or delivering training, this is the job for you!
