What does this service offer?
If you are a complete beginner and want to get online for the first time or would like to brush up your skills our service can help. Our trained volunteers will help you go online and teach you how to use your device.
What you can learn with us
Our tech-savvy volunteers can help you learn how to use your phone or computer for a number of useful things such as:
- Making voice and video calls to family and friends
- Accessing films, TV, radio, music, and more
- Using healthcare services like the NHS app to book appointments and order prescriptions
- Shopping online, managing banking, paying bills, and accessing pensions and benefits
- Connecting on social media with friends and communities that share your interests
- Using the internet to find out information
How the drop-in works
Our drop-in sessions are designed to be simple, welcoming, and completely stress free. There is no need to book, just come along whenever it suits you.
You will receive free one to one support from one of our friendly volunteers who are happy to answer any question, no matter how small. You can bring your own phone, tablet or laptop, or use one of ours if that is easier.
We will go at your pace, taking things step by step so you feel comfortable and confident. And of course, you are welcome to stay for a chat, the kettle is always on!
Whether you are brand new to technology or just need a bit of a refresher, we are here to help without the confusing jargon or pressure.

- Every Monday 10:00-12:00 at The Bradbury Centre, Age UK, 46 Humberstone Gate, Leicester
- Every Friday 10:00-12:00 at Birstall Methodist Centre, Wanlip Lane, Birstall
- Every 1st, 2nd & 3rd Thursday 10:00-12:00 at Oakham Library, Catmose Street, Oakham
- Every 1st & 3rd Monday 14:30-16:30 at Rothley Library, Mountsorrel Lane, Rothley
