Peter Southgate

Peter joined the Board of Age UK Merton in November 2022.

Following a professional career in market and social research, Peter was elected to Merton Council in 2002 as an Independent member to represent Merton Park Ward. In 2006 he was elected as Chair of the Overview & Scrutiny Commission, a role he held for 16 years until retiring from the council in 2022. He also served on the Planning Applications Committee for 20 years.

He is a Governor of Merton Park Primary School, Chair of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association Liaison Group and a Trustee of Merton & Morden Guild of Social Welfare.
