We are so excited to bring you a whole host of brand new special events!

Throughout the summer we are hosting special events as part of our 'Out-and-about' scheme. We aim to give everyone a different taste of Mitcham and the surrounding areas by exploring places of interest. 

Key dates for your diary:

Monday 2nd October: Public Transport Outing to Mitcham Fire Station- a behind the scenes experience of a working fire station, from 10am to 12pm, (£5)

Thursday 5th October: Supper Club at Sai Indian Restaurant, Raynes Park at 6pm (£2)

Friday 6th October: Public Transport Outing to Crossbones Cemetery- take a stroll with us around this ancient cemetery, from 10am to 2pm, (£10)

Thursday 12th October: Lunch & Quiz- Join us for a delicious lunch followed by an exciting quiz with prizes, from 12:30pm to 2:30pm, (£10)

Friday 13th October: Sports Morning- Our popular mornings filled with sports and games continue once a month, from 10:30am to 12pm, (free)

Thursday 19th October: Black History Month- AUKM celebrates Black History Month with a fun-filled day of music and food, from 11am to 2pm, (free)

Wednesday 25th October: Frankie the Therapy Dog- due to popular demand, Frankie will be back visiting the centre to give doggy cuddles, from 11am-12pm, (free)

Thursday 26th October: Outing by minibus to Museum of the Home- this museum explores home life from 1600s to present day, from 9:30am to 2pm, (£20)

Friday 27th October: Special Lunch Around the World: A Taste of India (please arrive no earlier than 12pm), from 12:30pm to 1:30pm, (£10)

Wednesday 1st November: Supper Club at Charles Holden Pub, Colliers Wood at 6pm (£2)

Thursday 2nd November: Outing by minibus to Horniman Museum London- explore this beautiful museum filled with natural history, from 9:30am to 2pm, (£20)

Friday 3rd November: Tea & Talk- Parkinson’s UK share their knowledge and support of Parkinson’s with us, from 11am-12pm, (free)

Thursday 9th November: Centre is closed all day for staff training

Friday 10th November: Sports Morning- Our popular mornings filled with sports and games continue once a month, from 10:30am to 12pm, (free)

Thursday 16th November: Public Transport Outing to meander along the Whitehall to the Cenotaph- a beautiful opportunity to see London, from 10am to 2pm, (£10)

Friday 17th November: Tea and Talk- Merton Uplift teach us coping mechanisms and relaxation techniques to de-stress, from 10:30am-12pm, (free)

Monday 20th November: Public Transport Outing to Drop Project Brewery- a tour around this brand-new start up brewery in Mitcham, from 10am-12pm, (£5)

Wednesday 22nd November: Frankie the Therapy Dog- due to popular demand, Frankie will be back visiting the centre to give doggy cuddles, from 11am-12pm, (free)

Wednesday 22nd November: Age UK Merton AGM- come along to our open Annual General Meeting, from 3pm-5pm, (free)

Thursday 23rd November: Film Club- film ‘Yesterday’, ice-cream served at the interval, from 2pm-4pm, (free)

Friday 24th November: Special Lunch around the world- A Taste of China (please arrive no earlier than 12pm), from 12:30pm to 1:30pm, (£10)

Thursday 30th November: Coach Trip Outing- day out to visit Winchester Christmas Market, transport provided, from 9:30am to 5pm, (£27.50)

Monday 4th December to Friday 8th December: Christmas Lunches- our ever-famous Xmas lunches are back and better than ever, running all week from 12pm to 1:30pm, (£15)

Thursday 7th December: Training Talk on Falls Prevention- giving you important practical advice and techniques to avoid falls, from 2pm to 4pm, (free)

Monday 11th December: Theatre Trip to see Cinderella at Wimbledon Theatre- join Cinders as she goes from rags to riches, from 1pm-3pm, (£35)

Thursday 14th December: Tea and Talk on Footcare- an important talk from Diabetes UK and our footcare specialist, Patricia, from 2pm-4pm, (free)

Thursday 14th December: Supper Club at Gino’s Italian restaurant, Mitcham at 6pm, (£2)

Thursday 21st December: Film Club- get in the festive mood as we showcase a Christmassy film with mince pies served, from 2pm-4pm, (free)
