Move more. Feel better. Meet people.

Communities in Motion is a new Age UK Norfolk programme offering free physical activity sessions for people aged 65 and over living in Great Yarmouth.

Launching in September 2026, this 12-week programme will support older people to become more active, improve their strength and balance, build confidence and connect with others in a welcoming and friendly environment.

Whether you are looking to try a new activity, become more active or simply meet new people, Communities in Motion offers a supportive way to enjoy movement at your own pace.

About Communities in Motion

Communities in Motion has been designed to help older people in Great Yarmouth feel more confident and comfortable taking part in physical activity.

Each 12-week course will include enjoyable, accessible sessions that focus on movement, strength, balance and wellbeing. Sessions will be suitable for a range of abilities and experience levels — you don't need to be fit or have taken part in exercise classes before.

As well as being active, each session will include time to enjoy refreshments, chat with others and build connections within the local community.

Who is Communities in Motion for?

Communities in Motion is for people aged 65 and over living in Great Yarmouth who would like to:

  • Improve strength, balance and confidence
  • Become more active in a friendly group setting
