How we are run
Our aim at Age UK Oadby & Wigston is to meet the needs of older people in the Borough of Oadby & Wigston with a range of services and activities, both social and recreational.
Our board of trustees
Like all charities, Age UK Oadby & Wigston has a governing constitution that ensures that the charity operates in a manner laid down by charity law.
The charity is governed and managed by a group of trustees who have local connections and are especially interested in helping their community and in the welfare of older people.
As with staff, the skills and experience brought to the organisation by our trustees is crucial to the success of the charity.
Our staff
The charity currently employs a Chief Officer to direct the organisation. There are 12 paid members of staff working on various aspects of the service and we have around 60 unpaid volunteers, who give their spare time to help ensure that the centres run smoothly.
The success of the organisation depends on the skills and experience of both staff and volunteers working together.
Our offices
Our team is based at the Paddock Street Centre, which offers an easily accessible location with a large free public car park opposite and regular buses stopping right outside the door.
Reception is manned Tuesday to Friday from 10am until 3pm, where one of our friendly volunteer receptionists will be available to assist with any enquiries and point people in the right direction where necessary.
