A basic will is free of charge. If your circumstances require more complex arrangements, such as trusts or inheritance tax planning, these would fall outside the scope of a basic will and can be discussed directly with the solicitor. Any additional work beyond the basic will writing service will incur a fee, which would always be agreed with you in advance.

Age UK Richmond has partnered with two local legal firms, Perfectly Legal and Parsonage & Co, to provide a new free will writing service for older residents of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.

Making a will is one of the most important steps you can take to ensure your wishes are carried out and the people you care about are provided for. Our free service makes it easier to put these plans in place, with professional legal guidance and support.

What is included with this service?

The service provides a free basic will, which would typically include:
1. Appointment of executors
2. Distribution of your estate
3. Standard administrative provisions

How does the service work?

To prepare your will, you will be invited to attend a one-hour appointment with a qualified will writing adviser at our Twickenham Wellbeing Centre on Arragon Road, Twickenham, TW1 3NH.

We are pleased to work with two trusted local firms:

Both firms are regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).

Who is eligible?

Residents of Richmond upon Thames aged 60 and over are eligible for our free will writing service.

How to book an appointment

One-hour appointments are available between 10am and 4pm on the following dates:

Perfectly Legal on Thursday 30th July
Parsonage & Co on Thursday 13th August

After these 2 initial dates, regular appointments will be taking place on the 1st Thursday of each month.

Appointments are at our Twickenham Wellbeing Centre on Arragon Road, Twickenham, TW1 3NH.

We appreciate notifying us of any changes or cancellations to your appointment as soon as possible.
