We officially became Age UK Tameside on 1st April 2011 and although we remain an independent local charity, we are proud to be affiliated to Age UK.

Our trustees

Our trustees are a team of local volunteers who give their time to oversee the general control and management of the administration of Age UK Tameside. We have a minimum of 11 trustees on the Board who contribute their skills and experience in business, legal issues, finance, social care, buildings and local politics. Our trustees meet on a 6 weekly basis and are actively involved in our charitable work in relation to fundraising, business development and public relations.

Our partners

Age UK Tameside is committed to serving the needs of older people across the Borough of Tameside and we work in partnership with our commissioners in health and social care to review service models and make adaptations to our services in order to meet the changing needs of our growing aging population.

In 2010 we invited the local CVS – T3SC to share our central offices. This development has enabled both organisations to share skills, experience and work closely together to support the needs of older people and other charitable groups across Tameside.</p

As a local, independent charity, with more than 30 years experience supporting older people, we have an excellent track record of providing high quality services that meet the changing needs of our growing, ageing population.

We are here to help you or a loved one to remain safe, secure, active and independent. We offer a range of services across Tameside and Glossop to help you enjoy later life. We rely on the generosity of our community through regular donations, contributions to our shops and support for our fundraising initiatives.
